Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as a journalist and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle beach, South Carolina. O'Dell later became an anchor for morning news at WCBD TV and also as a crime reporter. The stories she reported in Charleston concerning the lack of leniency by police when it comes to DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. It led to state authorities issuing more strict regulations in these cases. The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with its Best Report of the Years Award across all South Carolina Media. Following her stint living in Charleston, O'Dell worked as an anchor co-host for the NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and also as an investigative reporter.
