Schlapp is able to remain in the right frame of mind and stay on top of her game by working closely in conjunction with White House teams in political matters, legislative affairs and policy, as well as the wider communications team. The focus of her work has been on areas including the safety of schools, opioids, and infrastructure, along with trade. The reporter doesn't get to interact at all in her current role. The company received lots of attention from the media when she was identified as a candidate to replace Hope Hicks, the communications director. It hasn't been an easy fight.
