Julie Chen Moonves is the host of the 22nd season, premiering on CBS on August 5, 2018. Chen Moonves served as the moderator and one of the early hosts of The Talk. When she was finishing her last year of college, she was an assistant for ABC News in Los Angeles (1990-1991) and was the director of ABC NewsOne (the network's affiliated news service). It was her first broadcasting job as a desk assistant for ABC News' late-night show Nightline featuring Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel is still among the journalists she admires. Chen Moonves, who won Columbia du-Pont for the primetime Anatomy of a Riot special that explored the 1992 Los Angeles riots, worked in conjunction with Koppel.
